Five athletes and five teams who made an impact on the local preps scene this past week:
Five athletes
Makenna Bruno, Loveland soccer: The Red Wolves junior had a huge game in her team’s 10-3 victory over Mountain Range on Thursday.

In the first meet of the season for local teams, Clark clocked a 2:08.99 — 4 1/2 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. It is the third-fastest 800 time in the nation so far this season.
Trent Gabrielson, Thompson Valley track and field: The Eagles senior, who finished eighth at the state cross country meet in the fall, picked up right where he left off by winning the 1,600-meter run at the Max Marr Invite on Saturday in Berthoud.
