LOVELAND

Day of Prayer

Loveland will observe the annual National Day of Prayer at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Loveland Police & Courts building, 810 E. 10th St.

Community members are welcome to attend to pray for the nation, state, county and cities.

Additionally, No Ordinary Grandmas will have a National Day of Prayer observance at 10 a.m. May 7 in the Connecting Center at LifeSpring Church, 743 S. Dotsero Drive.

Guest speaker Marguerite Hermanson will address a gathering for all grandmothers about praying for our country and grandchildren who give both joy and challenges. She served in Christian education, youth and women’s ministry for over 55 years and helped launch Community Bible Study ministry.

Bells of the Rockies

Bells of the Rockies will present “Through Music We …,” highlighting the many special ways music touches lives, at 4-5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 2500 N. Garfield Ave.

The group also will perform at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1800 21st. Ave. in Greeley, and at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at Embassy Suites in Loveland when the Handbell Musicians of America Festival takes place June 11-14 in Loveland.

Art Opening

An artist showcase will be held Wednesday, May 6, To the Fives Taproom, 423 N. Cleveland Ave.

Caitlin May will showcase her paintings, jewelry and pottery, and Sol Pride will provide music at 7-9 p.m., offering positively messaged original reggae, funk and jam from international recording artist Carlton Pride and his Colorado band Sol Pride.

Pride was formerly signed by the Marleys and headliner of the Bob Marley festival, and Charley’s reggae rebel son.

Singing Workshop

Northern Colorado Performing Arts will offer a Free Musical Theater Vocal Toolkit Singing Workshop for ages 11-18 at 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the theater at 575 N. Denver Ave.

Students will learn how to sing strong, high-energy moments with more comfort and control (including belt/mix basics), make lyrics clearer and tell the story more effectively and keep voices feeling good through busy rehearsal and performance weeks.

Students should come ready to move, sing and try new things — no solo singing required.

Guided Bird Walk

Two volunteer birders with Loveland Open Lands and Trails will offer a Guided Bird Walk at 8-10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at River’s Edge Natural Area, 960 W. First St.

Watch for resident and migratory bird species, including raptors, songbirds and waterfowl, as they move through the area during spring migration, or stay to nest. Leaders will help spot birds and give tips for identification.

The leisurely walk around the ponds is about 1 mile long.

Binoculars, water, sun protection and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Meet by the large kiosk map at the main parking lot.

The walk is recommended for ages 10-plus with an adult.

FORT COLLINS

Blues Behind Bars

A Blues Behind Bars Fundraiser will be held at 8:30-10 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at 830 North, 830 N. College Ave.

Blues Behind Bars is both a band and a nonprofit organization. Starting in 2009 BBB began playing concerts in Colorado prisons, has toured the Nebraska prisons system and written many songs with inmates. Its mission is to build bridges through the arts.

The group will perform songs written behind bars along with some of the classic blues that shaped American pop music.

‘Runes’

Zikr Dance Ensemble presents “Runes” at 7-9 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at Bas Bleu Theatre, 401 Pine St.

Showcasing an international cast of world class dancers, the show will explore the power and transformative energies of some of history’s iconic symbols and the light code language of the future.

Zikr will also reprise internationally acclaimed Belgian choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s “In Memoriam” pas de deux, along with Tomm Ruud’s  “Mobile” and Zikr’s signature work and audience favorite, “In Your Eyes.”

ChildSafe Gala

The Celebration of Healing Gala for ChildSafe will be held at 6-10 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Colorado State University, Lory Student Center Ballroom, 1101 Center Ave Mall.

The event will honor the legacy, leadership and lasting impact of those who built ChildSafe’s foundation over the last 40 years and the community that continues to carry it forward.

Star Wars Day

Celebrate Star Wars Day May the 4th at 4:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, in person and virtual, at Totally 80’s Pizza & Museum, 2567 S. Shields St., Unit 4C.

The event will feature “Star Wars”-themed face painting and balloon light sabers, “Star Wars” decor and memorabilia on display. Meet Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Boba Fett and Stormtroopers all live and in person.

Front Range Players

The Front Range Chamber Players will present “Concert No. 6 Fort Collins: Ivy Street Ensemble and Friends” at 7-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at Fort Collins High School, McNeal Auditorium, 3400 Lambkin Way.

The Ivy Street Ensemble (Cathy Peterson, flute; Erik Peterson, violin; Phillip Stevens, viola; and Elizabeth Freimuth, french horn, will perform music by Mullikin, Bach and Hummel.

Radio Open House

KRFC 88.9 FM will hold a Community Open House at 4-6 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the station at 619 S. College Ave. No. 2.

The drop‑in event will offer a behind‑the‑scenes look at what community‑powered radio looks like in 2026, including a look at the live performance studio and chance to meet the DJs.

Light food and beverages will be provided.

Big Brew Day

Big Brew Day will take place at 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Brew Fort, 309 S. Summit View Drive, Unit 1.

The event will feature homebrewing demos, hands-on learning and pro-level tips from area brewers, including The Liquid Poets and The Weiz Guys. Those who are new to brewing or dialing in their process can ask questions and pick up tips and tricks from award-winning brewers.

Art Week Fort Collins

Art Week Fort Collins is taking place May 1-9 with guided tours, workshops and shows to celebrate the arts downtown.

Art in Public Places will be leading two tours, a Public Art Walking Tour at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, and a Super Tour! History, Murals and Public Art Downtown at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, both for ages 12-plus.

Plant Swap & Sale

Hope Roots’ Annual Plant Swap & Sale will be held at 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Hope Roots, 109 Cameron Drive, Unit A.

The Plant Swap will be held at 1-2 p.m. Participants will get a ticket for every item they bring to the swap. Arrive before 1:30 p.m. with swap items. At 1:30 p.m tickets will be drawn and participants can pick any item from the swap tables.

After the swap concludes, the remaining plants will be available to purchase for any donation. Some special plant items (donated by sponsors) will only be available in the sale and may be offered as silent auction items.

The plant sale benefits the work of Hope Roots, which seeks to create better access to trauma recovery services in Colorado.

GREELEY

Bear Fest

The Bear Fest 2026 concert is moving off campus and into downtown Greeley with a kickoff at 6 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Ninth Street Plaza.

It will include vendors, games, activities and music from a lineup of student musicians at local venues. The main stage also opens at 6 p.m. with a student DJ, followed by a Battle of the Bears competition at 7 p.m. and indie artist headliner Thomas Day (a semifinalist from season 15 of “America’s Got Talent”) closing the event at 8:30-9:30 p.m.
