“Rock, blues and boogie” legends ZZ Top will playtheir smallest venue in years when they come to Greeley early next week.
The show, which has limited tickets left up for sale, will kick off at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Union Colony Civic Center.
Formed in 1969 when the three members’ two bands combined, “that lil’ ol’ band from Texas” has since gone on to release 15 studio albums, four live albums, seven compilation albums and 38 singles.
The group rose to prominence in 1973 with their third album, “Tres Hombres,” which featured the hit “La Grange.”
Their 1983 album, “Eliminator,” which featured “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs,” was one of the music industry’s first albums to be certified Diamond, meaning U.S. domestic sales exceeded 10 million units.
The only lineup change in the group’s past five decades of touring came in when bassist Dusty Hill died in 2021.
At just less than 1,700 seats, the UCCC’s Monfort Hall is the smallest venue the group has performed at in more than a decade, according to Bandwagon promoter Ely Corliss.
Remaining tickets to the Greeley show start at $83. They are available at UCStars.Showare.com.
