LOVELAND

Loveland Orchestra

The Loveland Orchestra will present “Above and Below” at 7:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Mountain View High School, 3500 Mountain Lion Drive.

A pre-concert talk will be offered at 7 p.m.

The concert will include selections by John Williams from “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “Jurassic Park,”  Beethoven’s “Wellingtonʹs Victory,” Violin Concerto by Sibelius, with Jubal Fulks, violin, and “And God Created Great Whales” by Alan Hovhaness.

Tickets are $15 adults, $10 students and ages 12 and under are free.

Grow with Me Sale

Parents of Multiples will hold a Grow With Me Kids Sale featuring gently used baby, kids and maternity items at 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, at the Pedersen Toyota Center at The Ranch, 5280 Arena Circle, Unit 100.

Charity Poker Tourney

The LoveFoCo Charity Poker Tournament will take place at 5:45-9 p.m. Friday, March 6, at High Country Beverage, 4200 Ronald Reagan Blvd.

Seats are limited to 100 players and all proceeds go directly to opening the LoveFoCo Resource Center. Opening this spring at 1213 Riverside, Fort Collins, LoveFoCo will serve up to 1,500 people/month by uniting five nonprofits under one roof.

The poker competition will feature prizes including a John Elway signed helmet, Cale Makar autographed memorabilia, Colorado Eagles tickets, $250 gift cards, and more.

Registration is $150 and includes entertainment, drinks, raffle tickets, $15,000 in starting chips, with buy-back opportunities available.

‘Rent’

The Colorado State University theater department will present “Rent” by Jonathan Larson at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 6 and March 13, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, March 11 and 12, at the University Theatre, 1400 Remington St.

The Pulitzer and Tony award-winning rock musical about love, loss and community surviving a pandemic, follows a group of friends as they try to survive an economy in flux and an AIDS pandemic in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The production contains adult themes, including profanity and mature language, sexual situations, substance abuse, illness, death, and suicide, and is not recommended for all ages.

‘Innovation’

A dance show, “Innovation — An American Celebration” will be offered at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 6=7, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the Lincoln Center, 417 W. Magnolia St.

The show is a tribute to the power of creativity, individuality and artistic evolution in American dance, offering a fresh perspective on the future of ballet.

Square Dusters

The Square Dusters Dance Club will present a swashbuckling night of “Pirate Legends” square dancing, inspired by salty tales, sunny shores and easy going island vibes at 7-9:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Club Tico, 1599 City Park Drive.

The caller will be Roger Schappell and cuer is Denise Behrens. Rounds will start at 7 p.m. with squares at 7:30 p.m.

Bored Teachers Comedy

The Bored Teachers “Is It Friday Yet?!” Comedy Tour will be at Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave., at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 6.

The show is more than comedy — it’s a night of laughter and solidarity for anyone who’s ever worked in education, survived a parent-teacher conference, or just sat through class.

The 11th annual Poudre River Forum will take place at 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at the Aims Community College Welcome Center, 4901 W. 20th St.

Join Brad Wind and Gary Wockner for a candid conversation about collaboration, compromise and what it takes to move forward together.

Dale Trowbridge will receive the 2026 Poudre Pioneer Award. He has worked with the New Cache la Poudre River Irrigating Company and the Cache la Poudre Reservoir Company, and helped develop the Lower Poudre Augmentation Company.

Life Without Parole

David Carrillo’s Story of Life Without Parole to a Life of Purpose will be presented at noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the Student Commons 114, at Aims Community College.

Carrillo, sentenced to life without parole, spent more than 30 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections, including time in solitary confinement. While incarcerated, he pursued education relentlessly — earning multiple degrees and ultimately becoming the first incarcerated individual in the United States to be hired as a college professor, teaching business and economics at Adams State University.

His talk is an opportunity to hear firsthand how resilience, accountability and education can transform lives and communities.
