LOVELAND

‘Purple Piano’

“Purple Piano: The One-Man Tribute to Prince” can be seen at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Rialto Theater Center, 228 E. Fourth St.

Marshall Charloff portrays the artist in the show that features Prince’s hits, masterfully delivered with vocals and solo piano, in the style of Prince’s final “Piano & A Microphone” tour.

Beer Week

Downtown Loveland will hold a Downtown Beer Week Saturday, Feb. 21 through Feb. 28.

Explore Loveland’s beer scene with brewery tours, limited edition releases, tasting specials and more.

A free Brewhop Trolley will make loops to pick up and drop off guests at participating breweries from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.

Several free talks will be offered.

• 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, MeadKrieger, 452 N. Washington Ave., will look at “Sweet Science: How Mead is Made.”

• 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, Loveland Aleworks, 118 W. Fourth St., will look at “Beer Deconstructed: From Grain to Glass.”

• 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, Verboten Brewing & Barrel Project, 127 E. Fifth St., will look at “Time in Wood: A Deep Dive into Barrel Aging,” with barrel flights available for purchase.

• 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, Sky Bear Brewing and Pub, 272 E. Fifth St., will look at “The Spirit of Craft Beer.”

The talks are free to attend and no registration is required. Seating is first come, first serve.

KidsPak Food Drive

The KidsPak annual City-Wide Food Drive will be held at 8:45 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Friday-Sunday, Feb. 27-March 1, at grocery stores in Loveland (Safeways, Walmarts and King Soopers).

The organization will collect food to support local students facing food insecurity.

Held over one weekend each year, the drive provides a critical portion of the food used in KidsPak’s Weekend Food Bags and school pantries.

Johnny Fimple

In partnership with Grace Place Church and House of Neighborly Service, motivational speaker and business consultant Johnny Fimple will host a live community speaking event at 11:15 a.m-12:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Grace Place, 75 Meadowlark Drive.

The goal is to inspire positive change while collecting winter essentials for local families. Organizers hope to collect 100 coats and 200 food items to support neighbors in need during the winter months.

Presented by Iconic Digital Studios, the event will feature excerpts from Fimple’s upcoming book, “Everything Matters,” along with an encore presentation titled “Careful What You Wish For.” The talk will be recorded live and followed by appetizers and drinks provided by Timberline Cafe.

The event is open to the public. Admission is free with the donation of a winter coat or canned and dry food items.

Attendees are asked to RSVP by emailing Resonate@johnnyfimple.com, though walk-ins with donations will be welcomed as space allows.

‘The Ten Tenors’

The Ten Tenors will present a 30th Anniversary World Tour show at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Lincoln Center, 417 W. Magnolia.

Evening with Minstrels

An Evening with the Minstrels – Redefined will be held at 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Opera Galleria, 123 N. College Ave.

The event will bring together classical music, dance, poetry and visual storytelling to honor the legacy Black composers during Black History Month.

The Black History Month celebration will continue at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Foothills Mall, 215 E. Foothills Parkway, with a Freedom of Expression: Music, Lyrics, and Poetry Workshop.

Open Hearts Gala

The Safe Families for Children Open Hearts Gala will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Drake Centre, 802 W. Drake Road.

The celebration is about coming together as a community to support children and families in their most vulnerable moments.

The evening will feature inspiring stories from families, churches and volunteers.

International Trivia

International Trivia & Wine Night: All You Need Is Love will be held at 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures, 200 W. Mountain Ave.

This special edition is inspired by the museum’s exhibit “Letters from the Heart: Global Threads of Love,” and features questions from around the world with a romantic twist.

The event is for ages 21 and older. Admission is $15 per person and includes a global wine tasting.

Mom Prom

The newly formed Johnstown Milliken Community Foundation will hold a Mom Prom at 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Mad Russian Event Center, 2100 Country Club Parkway.

Expect a fun and festive evening filled with a silent auction, putt putt golf, dancing and a photo booth, and a light meal and cash bar.

Tickets are $50.

The Weld Community Foundation has awarded the group a $10,000 matching grant, and the goal is to meet the full match through this event.

GREELEY

‘Step Afrika!’

Step Afrika!, the first professional dance company dedicated to the tradition of stepping, will give a program at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave.

Founded in 1994 as an exchange program with Soweto Dance Theatre of Johannesburg, Step Afrika! blends African and African American percussive dance into performances filled with rhythm and storytelling. Performances integrate songs, storytelling, humor and audience participation with a blend of technique, agility and pure energy.
