High Plains School largely swept the Platte River Power Authority’s seventh annual NoCo Time Trials May 2, a race of solar and battery powered cars.
Among 60 teams from 12 middle schools, four High Plains teams won awards for fastest battery car, fastest solar car, best designed battery car and best designed solar car.
“We’re incredibly proud of the students who dedicated so much time and effort to prepare for the NoCo Time Trials,” said Jason Frisbie, general manager and CEO of Platte River. “It’s exciting to see the next generation of energy leaders working hands-on with the same technologies Platte River is using to advance the clean energy transition.”
Altona Middle School was awarded the school spirit award.
