The National Weather Service reports that up to 9 inches of snow blanketed Loveland during a May storm Tuesday and Wednesday.

Official reports are that 4 inches fell on the east side of Loveland and 9 inches on the west. Much more snow fell in the mountains with up to 27 inches reported in Estes Park.

The snow did not stick to the roads but did provide some much needed moisture, though not enough to stave off a fire ban approved Tuesday for unincorporated Larimer County.
