Head coach Ali Farokhmanesh and the Colorado State men’s basketball team received a commitment from Iowa high school senior standout Jaxon Clark on Tuesday.

Clark will be the fourth member of CSU’s 2026 freshman class. The 6-foot-10 center recently completed his senior season at Keokuk High School. He announced his commitment on social media.

He was named the Iowa Class 3A player of the year after averaging 27.9 points, 17.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals per game.

With more than 1,600 career points as a prep star according to Muddy River Sports, he leaves as his high school’s all-time leading scorer.

Clark joins a 2026 freshman class that includes Gregory “Pops” Dunson, Jaden Ghoreishi, and Eric Fiedler.

Dunson led his Alexander (Georgia) High School team to a 30-2 record and Class 5A Georgia state title as a senior. He scored 25 points in the championship game. On the season, he averaged 17.8 points and 5.3 assists per game.

Fiedler was named the Gatorade player of the year for Colorado after averaging 29.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. He finished his prep career as the leading scorer in Regis Jesuit history with 1,909 points.

Ghoreishi missed most of his senior season at Mt. Spokane in Washington due to health issues but returned for the Washington state playoffs. He was rated as the No. 28 center in the nation by 247Sports.

Clark’s addition brings the Rams’ 2026-27 roster to 14 players, which includes two transfers and eight returnees from last year’s team.

The two transfers are Justin Menard, a 6-foot-3 guard from Marist, and Amondo Miller Jr., a 6-7 graduate guard/forward from Division II Lubbock Christian University. Miller, a Valor Christian alum, was a D2 All-American last season.

The freshmen and transfers will join returning players Carey Booth, Jase Butler, JoJo McIver, Josh Pascarelli, Rashaan Mbemba, Charlie Dortch, Kyle Jorgensen and Docker Tedeschi who all opted to return to CSU next season.
