Kyle Jorgensen and Carey Booth will be back with the CSU men’s basketball team next season.
Jorgensen, a sophomore and the team’s second-leading scorer, announced on social media Thursday he will return to Fort Collins for his junior season. Booth, a junior and the team’s third-leading scorer, did the same Friday to announce his return for his senior year.
Meanwhile, three other players from the 2025-26 team have made it known they intend to transfer, including the team’s leading scorer from last season, Brandon Rechsteiner. Bench players Darnez Slater and Augustinas Kiudulas also plan to leave the program.
The transfer portal will open April 7.
Jorgensen will return for his third season with the Rams. His social media post announcing his intention was captioned, “Unfinished business.”
He finished his sophomore season with 27 starts in 28 games. He averaged 11.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 52% from the floor and 40% from 3-point range.
Jorgensen started the season strong, averaging 15.2 points per game in nonconference play, twice scoring 25 points or more while making 58% of his 3-pointers.
An injury in the Rams’ Mountain West Conference opener forced him to miss five games, and after returning, he only averaged 10 points.

During his freshman year, he played only 13 minutes per game on CSU’s 2025 NCAA Tournament team and averaged 4.1 points per contest.
In his post on social media Friday, Booth captioned it, “Zero doubt.”
After spending one season at Notre Dame and another at Illinois, Booth had a breakout season in his first at CSU.
He started 30 of the Rams’ 34 games and finished third on the team in scoring with 10.7 per contest, while leading the team in rebounding with 5.6 per contest.
The son of former Denver Nuggets general manager Calvin Booth played more minutes for CSU last season than he did in his years at Notre Dame and Illinois combined.
During the season, he had a season-high 22 points in a win over San Diego State and a 19-point, 12-rebound game against Grand Canyon.
While the Rams are retaining their second- and third-leading scorers, they are losing their leader in that category, Rechsteiner.
Rechsteiner’s plans were first announced by Greenlight Media on X and Instagram early Friday morning; Rechsteiner reposted the announcement.
The guard transferred to CSU after two seasons at Virginia Tech. In his only season in Fort Collins, he averaged 12 points per game along with 2.5 assists. He started every game and played 28 minutes per contest.
He made 40% of his 3-pointers and his 86 threes are the fourth-most in a single season in program history.
Also announcing transfer plans Thursday was Slater, who just finished his redshirt freshman season with the Rams. His intention to transfer was first reported by 247Sports.
Slater redshirted during the 2024-25 season and played only 158 minutes this past season. However, he did make an impact in a couple of games for CSU. At UNLV in February, he came off the bench to score nine points and dish out two assists in 19 minutes.
Monday, Brandon Goble of JucoAdvocate first reported that forward Kiudulas plans to enter the transfer portal, citing his agents.
After playing one season at Indiana State and one at VMI, Kiudulas spent one season in Fort Collins.
Kiudulas appeared in all 34 games with four starts. He ended up playing 15 minutes per game and averaged 5.9 points and 2.7 rebounds. He had a season-high 20 against New Mexico in early January.
